How Much Does Expensify Cost?

Before digging into features, let’s take a look at Expensify’s pricing plan.

Expensify Plan Pricing

How much does it cost to use Expensify? The Expensify pricing plan is more confusing than you might expect. There are several factors that go into how much you pay, including the chosen plan, number of users, and pay cadence

Let’s begin with the plans. There are four Expensify plans:

  • Track is intended for individuals who want to (you guessed it) track what they spend. It is a free plan.

  • Submit is free as well. However, it can also collect payments and send invoices.

  • Collect starts at $5 per user per month. It offers accounting integration and expense approval for businesses.

  • Control starts at $9 per user per month. It offers multiple approvers and expense policies.

Note that prices on the paid plans are on a per-user basis. The price goes up the more employees you add.

Expensify does offer a six-week free trial before you buy either of the paid programs. Using Expensify for free can help your organization decide whether it is the right choice for supporting your operations.

Does Expensify Offer Discounts for Nonprofits?

There is currently no special plan or discount for nonprofit organizations, but there are still a couple of ways that you can save money. First of all, Expensify offers a 50% discount for either of the paid plans if you pay for a full year upfront. You can also save 50% by choosing to use an Expensify corporate card for at least half of your organization’s spending.

Pro Tip: Because pricing is a bit confusing for this service, it is a good idea to talk to one of Expensify’s customer service representatives. They can help you figure out what Expensify would cost for your specific organization.

Expensify Drawbacks

As we mentioned earlier, the pricing structure for Expensify can be a bit complex compared to other platforms. There are also a few other drawbacks to keep in mind:

  • Some users report that Expensify’s support staff is not very responsive.

  • Expensify is optimized for use through its mobile app, so its web dashboard is not as sophisticated or easy to use.
